Having started out in the spare room of one of the director’s homes, BWC Fire Limited has grown and changed rapidly over the years and is now one of Kent’s leading providers of fire engineering and fire risk management services.
Right from the company’s early days, Blue Rocket has been at BWC Fire’s side, adapting our accountancy services to ensure we keep providing the right support and advice to help the company achieve its goals.
How we support BWC Fire
When Blue Rocket first began working with BWC Fire - when it was founded in 2011 - the company was a one-man band with its founder, Ben Whitaker, working out of his home office. Not long after, Ben Haskell came on board as a director.
Initially, Blue Rocket only provided basic accounting services, ensuring that statutory records and accounts were kept in check. As the company has grown, so too has the number of services we provide, with Blue Rocket now supporting BWC Fire in almost all aspects and acting not just as BWC’s accountants but as advisors too.
Freeing up time

Though the successful growth of BWC Fire is attributable to the experience and expertise of its directors, Blue Rocket has helped support the small but very successful team by taking care of the company’s accounting needs, as well as those of its two directors. This has freed up their time to focus on other activities vital to the company’s success, such as finding and winning more work, and delivering the excellent client service that BWC Fire has become known for.
Ensuring that BWC Fire is as profitable as it can be is another one of our remits, advising the directors on company vehicles, for example, and offering guidance on some of the tax implications of these kinds of transactions.
Advising on the purchase of assets
Most recently we helped BWC Fire purchase their own premises, advising them on the best way to buy in terms of the cost and tax implications, but also the most suitable company structure to ensure the protection of this valuable asset.
For Blue Rocket, working with BWC Fire is not just viewed as a set of tasks which need to be completed by year end in order to maintain compliance.
