What We Do
Accounts need to be prepared for a number of reasons, to fulfil both internal board requirements and satisfy external bodies, such as HMRC. From Limited Companies through to LLPs and Sole Traders, our accounting services cover all aspects of accounts preparation, including corporation and personal tax returns, VAT returns and more.
It goes without saying that your accounts need to be accurate and prepared in accordance with relevant laws and accounting standards, but we also pledge to do this in the most efficient way with minimum time required on your part. We’ll also identify any opportunities or issues we find along the way and raise these with you at the earliest opportunity, to ensure you can capitalise on them or work to resolve them.
Corporation Tax Return
If you run a Limited Company, you are required to prepare statutory accounts and submit these to Companies House annually. You are also required to file a Corporation Tax Return annually with HMRC. We’ll take care of everything that HMRC requires and inform you of the corporation tax payment required in plenty of time.
Director’s / Personal Tax Return
As well as preparing the annual company accounts and tax returns, we can also handle your personal tax returns, required to declare your personal income (salary and dividends) for the year.
Gathering your tax records might seem dull, but it is essential in ensuring your personal tax return is correct. To make your life easier and save you time, at the beginning of the tax year you will be contacted to let you know exactly what is needed to complete your return and, in most cases, where you can get the information from. Once your information is complete all you need to do is send it in.
From here, we ensure your tax return is prepared in accordance with legislation and manage any correspondence you receive from HMRC, but we also pledge to stop you paying more tax than you need to. The amount of tax you pay is dependent on an ever-changing set of variables. Keeping track of them can be time consuming and challenging, which is why you should have an accountant take care of it for you.
And finally, you’ll be provided with a handy payment schedule making sure you don’t miss a deadline.
VAT Returns (with bookkeeping)
If your company exceeds the VAT threshold – currently set at £85,000 – your business needs to be registered to pay VAT. We can register your company with HMRC and also prepare and submit your quarterly VAT returns on an ongoing basis, meaning that you will always be aware of your VAT liabilities and can rest assured that the VAT-man is happy.
We won’t just fill in a bunch of numbers though. Our six-step approach to filing VAT returns involves:
- Creating a recurring quarterly job in our job management system so we NEVER miss a deadline and are ready to begin work on the VAT return the day after the quarter end
- Carrying out checks on ALL transactions for the period, ensuring that purchase VAT has been claimed on every transaction where it should be and conversely that it hasn't been claimed where it shouldn't have been
- Ensuring that you are on the best scheme to maximise your cashflow, Cash or Accruals, and keeping an eye on the threshold at which you have to move to accruals by obligation, managing this process on your behalf
- Sending you notifications of the amount due as soon as the VAT return has been completed, usually within 10 days of receiving the information
- Filing the VAT return on time, every time
- Dealing with any queries, enquiries or investigations from HMRC so you don't have to get involved, allowing you to focus on running your business
We struggled for years to find a good accountant for our business. 4 years in and we have finally cracked it with the team at Blue Rocket. Unrivalled support and customer service, a genuine willingness to help, and overall exceptional support and knowledge. Can’t recommend them enough.
As a new client of Blue Rocket Accounting I have been blown away by the support they provide. Not only do they deliver excellent accountancy services, they have been there for their clients 24/7 during the pandemic, from dispensing jargon free digests of government announcements to setting up a WhatsApp group to provide support and networking.
Blue Rocket suggested I changed the way I was getting paid as a director. This saved me over £10,000 which I was then able to put back into the business.
Blue Rocket stand out from other accountants, and not just because their brand has a personality. Having them support me by keeping my accounts in check means that I am freed-up to focus on what I am good at, allowing me to grow my business.
The difference Blue Rocket made to the way I manage my business is something I could never have anticipated. I now believe that my goal of paying my mortgage off early is achievable due to the support I was given, which allowed me to make a strong start.
The team at Blue Rocket have been absolutely excellent. They are always patient and get back to me quickly. I make use of their support often and ask a lot of questions, which they answer in a way that makes things very clear.
We’re honoured to be recognised for our hard work and customer service.
Here are some of the accolades we’ve achieved.
